Dutch Design Week

Initiative and curatorship

In 2000 Miriam van der Lubbe and Eduard Sweep envisioned the idea of a platform for designers to present their work and come into contact with producers and the general public. This became Dutch Design Week, and has increasingly grown to become the ‘portal’ to Salone del Mobile in Milan. Every year, in nine days, some 2,000 Dutch designers display their latest work to around 200,000 visitors. To honour the tenth anniversary, Miriam curated the event in 2011, together with Bruno Ninaber van Eyben.
